Becoming a Mediator

Interested in Becoming an Affiliated Mediator with Central Mediation Center?

To become an affiliated mediator you will be required to take 30 hours of Basic Mediation Training and 30 hours of Family Mediation Training through the Nebraska Mediation Association (NMA). Upon completion of training, you will co-mediate three mediations with a supervisory mediator to become an Office of Dispute Resolution Parenting Act approved mediator.  You will have other training opportunities and actual mediation experiences that will allow you to develop your academic and practical understanding of mediation.

NMA is a statewide network of mediators that develops, implements, and sustains quality conflict resolution, mediation, and consensus building. The NMA promotes mediation and supports and provides training and educational opportunities. NMA provides links, resources, and enhanced opportunities among mediation professionals. For further training information, visit NMA’s website.
